The current iTwin auto-installs the Windows software when plugged in, but requires manual install for OS X, for now. In early 2012, we shall release iTwin devices which will auto-install on both OS X and Windows. Please note that once you have manually installed iTwin on your Mac, future upgrades will be auto-installed and will not require manual steps.

In our testing, we have observed that when copying or backing up very large files (say, a video) the progress-bar progresses in jumps and starts, instead of smoothly. So, the file will be in the process of being copied but it may not seem that way. The progress-bar will indicate '0 KB' even when the transfer is in progress.
We are working on this and will resolve it via an upgrade asap.
