iTwin Multi allows you to simultaneously plug more than one iTwin into your computers. Hence, when you use iTwin Multi you can share the same files on your computer with different people at the same time. It also allows you to share different files with different people at the same time.

File Permissions: Using iTwin Multi when you share files with another person you can choose to allow the other person to edit the files or you can set ?Read-Only? file permission. The default file permission allows the other person to edit the shared files.

Name Your iTwin pair: When you plug an iTwin (with both its halves connected to each other) into the USB port of your computer you can give a name to that iTwin pair. This will allow you to identify which iTwin you are currently using when you have multiple iTwins connected to your computer.

Identify an iTwin pair/iTwin half: To avoid any confusion, when you want to disconnect one particular iTwin pair/half from amongst the multiple iTwin pairs/halves connected to your computer, iTwin Multi has a feature called ?Blink LED?.

You can access this feature by clicking on the iTwin icon in the system-tray of your computer. Guide your mouse cursor over to the the iTwin pair/half you want to disconnect from your computer. Then from the list of options that appear select ?Blink Device LED?. You will see a red light blinking on the corresponding physical device for 10 secs.

This will allow you to correctly identify which iTwin pair/half you should disconnect.

No. The iTwin Multi feature has been released as a software update. Make sure you update your iTwin to the latest software version whenever you are prompted to do so. Then you will be able to use all the features of iTwin Multi.

iTwin Multi works on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. It also works on Mac OS X 10.6 and above. iTwin Multi is cross-platform compatible which means that you can use iTwin Multi to share files between a Windows computer and a Mac computer.

iTwin Multi does not work when directly connected to a NAS. However, you can plug your iTwin into a computer that has access to the NAS folder. Drag and drop this NAS folder into the iTwin folder and you can access all your files stored on the NAS.
